Patna Court Extends Protection for Khan Sir in Coaching Institute Firing Case
In a significant development, the Patna court on Saturday extended its interim protection from arrest for Faisal Khan, widely recognized as Khan Sir, in connection with the recent firing incident involving his coaching institute.
The next hearing is scheduled for June 30, where the court is anticipated to consider final arguments related to the case.
Background of the Case
The case originated from a violent altercation earlier this month when a group allegedly vandalized Khan Sir’s coaching institute. Reports suggest that during this incident, security guards at the institute are accused of having opened fire.
Khan Sir was subsequently named in the FIR, but the court granted him protective measures against arrest on June 9.
Court Proceedings
During the latest hearing, the investigating officer presented an updated case diary, which led the court to defer the matter to the upcoming Tuesday. “The updated case diary has been submitted by the investigating officer. The matter has been listed for arguments on Tuesday, and the ‘no coercive action’ order against Khan Sir will remain in force till then. The final hearing is expected to take place on that day,” stated Khan Sir’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mouar, in remarks to the press.
Mouar further emphasized that Khan Sir has been fully cooperating with law enforcement and investigative teams throughout the entire process.
Details of the Incident
The controversy stems from a confrontation between Khan Global Studies, where Khan Sir is associated, and a rival coaching institute. Allegations indicate that a group intruded into the premises, leading to property damage, physical assaults on security personnel, and inciting panic by allegedly discharging firearms.
Following a complaint lodged by Khan Global Studies, police arrested the director of the rival coaching institute and several of his associates. A pivotal moment in the investigation occurred when a video surfaced, purportedly showing two security guards firing shots into the air amidst the chaos. These guards were arrested, and during interrogation, they allegedly stated they acted under Khan Sir’s orders. Consequently, the police registered an FIR against Khan Sir and two other individuals.
This case has attracted significant media coverage and public interest, given the involvement of Khan Sir, a prominent educator in the region.
