Defanged Snake Reveals Sinister Murder Plot in Meerut

In a dramatic twist of fate in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a couple’s carefully orchestrated murder plot unraveled due to a critical oversight. A husband was killed under the guise of a snakebite, yet the authorities uncovered the sinister truth when they discovered the snake had been defanged, rendering it harmless.

The involved parties, Ravita and her lover Amardeep, were eager to eliminate Ravita’s husband, Amit Kashyap. Their planned deception relied on strangling Amit and using a snake to mislead investigators by simulating a natural cause for his demise.

The couple’s facade collapsed quickly when police noted the snake was neither venomous nor lethal, due to having been defanged. This revelation dismantled their false narrative and led to their arrest and subsequent sentencing.

Following their arrest, the district court in Meerut sentenced the adulterous pair to death. During sentencing, the presiding judge remarked on the deceitful nature of their actions, especially pointing out the cultural contrast with the tradition of Karva Chauth, where a wife’s vow is to safeguard her husband’s longevity.

This grave incident isn’t isolated; it follows a similar conviction of another couple in the same area a week prior. Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla were condemned to death by the court for the murder of Muskaan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput. Their crime involved a more gruesome methodology, concealing Saurabh’s body using concrete within an industrial drum.

For both cases, extensive hearings and thorough testimonies led to the court’s strong stance against these acts of marital betrayal and murder, showcasing the judiciary’s resolve in dealing with such heinous acts. The responsibility of caring for Ravita and Amit’s three children now falls under the district administration’s supervision following the court’s directive.

These consecutive incidents have cast a spotlight on the lengths individuals might go to in order to escape matrimonial bonds, leaving law enforcement and the community grappling with these moral failings.
