On Friday, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the general secretary of AIADMK, announced new appointments for key positions within the party. This move is seen as part of his strategy to strengthen the party’s organizational structure ahead of upcoming challenges.
In a formal statement, Palaniswami revealed that S.M. Sukumar from Arcot, S.G. Subramanian, the former MLA from Sattur, and K.C. Palanisamy, the ex-Deputy Mayor of Erode, have been designated as deputy propaganda secretaries of AIADMK. Additionally, V.M. Rajalakshmi, a former minister, has been named the joint secretary for the women’s wing, reflecting the party’s emphasis on women’s leadership and representation.
To further discuss strategies and initiatives, Mr. Palaniswami is scheduled to chair a meeting of the women’s wing on July 1 at the party headquarters. This meeting is expected to focus on enhancing the engagement and role of women in the party, especially in light of assembly elections and the overall political landscape.
The recent appointments come as AIADMK prepares to bolster its presence and influence, aiming to unite its members and supporters amidst ongoing political debates in the state.
