Pakistan Condemns Houthi Threats to Saudi Holy Sites
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has expressed deep concerns over recent threats from Houthi forces targeting sacred locations in Saudi Arabia. Addressing the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), he emphasized his country’s position that such actions cross a ‘red line’ of tolerance, underscoring the significance of protecting these sites.
The Prime Minister’s speech aligns with the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, to which Pakistan is a key signatory. This agreement underscores bilateral commitments between participating countries, particularly focusing on the defense and security of recognized holy sites in the region.
